A balancing act …

13 Jan

One of the most interesting and wonderful things about being a freelance writer is the sheer diversity and variety of writing assignments which come my way. One week I’m writing a white paper on global diversity;  the next,  it’s an article for a website or a magazine, a corporate award entry,  a briefing speech for a CEO or,  as was the case over Christmas,  a brochure for a small children’s charity in India.

And the Educators’ Trust India leaflet is now available – click here to take a look at it or to  download the PDF.

On the Big diverse Lunch: as featured in the Eden Project’s newsletter

1 Aug

Last month, I blogged over on The Gender Blog about my street’s participation in the Big Lunch,  which I described as:

“… a day in which around one million people all over Britain sat down with their neighbours for a communal meal.  And so,  for just one day,  the road was closed,  the cars were relocated,  bunting and balloons were strung across the road and woven into the trees – and around one hundred adults and children came together in my street for a communal barbecue, followed by homemade cakes and puddings.”

The blog post has now been picked up by the Big Lunch team,  who in turn are part of the people behind the Eden Project,  and it will be featured in their September newsletter – I’ll upload it here once it’s published.
